Michael Moore filed for divorce from his wife of twenty one years. Moore stated, ”There remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved.”
It seems the couple drifted apart. They were both from Flint, Michigan and have worked together in various productions. They have no children.

After a break-up or a divorce, making it through the first year is a big deal. Check out my latest Huffington Post article about making it through those initial 12 months. Please share the article. Here is a sample below:
It was recently reported that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise completed their first year after the divorce was finalized. Many divorced couples don’t think that they will survive after the split. The completion of the first year marks an important milestone.
When you’re going through the divorce process, it feels like it will never end. Then, one day, you both sign the divorce papers. After all of the aggravation, you get that piece of paper in the mail and you say to yourself, “That’s it?” This is what happened to me. However, that piece of paper is important because it marks your first day of your new life. It will always be your divorce day.

It seems that Katie Holmes is marking moving on from Tom Cruise with a divorce party. “We understand she’s marking the occasion with a ‘divorce party’,” reports British magazine Grazia. “The mood will be ‘enjoyable and emotional’ with Katie wanting to thank them for their support throughout a momentous year.”
The divorce party is reportedly going to be held at The Jane in New York City. Sounds like fun! Great way to move on!!

Co-parenting is really tough, so I can imagine how difficult it must be in Hollywood. There are many parents being acknowledged by the press as doing a positive co-parenting job together, which is always great to see. From Bruce Willis and Demi Moore to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony and more, celebs might not have been able to save their marriage but they are on the same page as parents. The Huffington Post posted a recent article about celeb mom and dads who got it right with co-parenting.
Dramatic, drawn-out divorces may be a common occurrence in Hollywood, but these celeb couples prove that splitting up doesn’t have to be an all-out war — especially when there are kids involved. To read the rest of the article click here.
On an interview with Wendy Williams, “Happily Divorced” star and TV veteran and divorcee Fran Drescher says she is looking for a man who has the “Five S’s.” What are they? (I was wondering the same thing.) Fran says, “Sexy, smart, successful, single and straight.” As we know, Fran’s first husband ended up coming out. It was the basis for her new hit show on TV Land.

Reality-TV star Brandi Glanville of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills announced via Twitter that she is donating the gown she wore during her wedding to her ex-spouse Eddie Cibrian. She decided to donate her wedding dress two years after the divorce was finalized. Glanville wrote, “I donated my wedding gown to a soon to be army wife & I still haven’t heard about who received it! Well I hope it makes someone very happy.”
This shows that even two years after a divorce is finalized there is still some healing to do. I think it is definitely a good idea to get rid of the wedding dress if looking at it brings on too many stressful memories. Not to mention, if you want to get married again I doubt you would wear the dress a second time. To read more about Glanville donating her dress click here.

After nine years of marriage, actor Russell Crowe is divorcing his wife Danielle Spencer. The couple, who met over 20 years ago on a film set, have two children together. Another marriage in Hollywood down the tubes. Marriages in Hollywood keep falling apart. Crowe seems to making movies all over the world, so time away from home certainly doesn’t help a relationship. All relationships need work. I hope they keep things civil for the children.
Olivia Wilde is one divorcee who has spoken openly about her break-up. She continues to share her inner most thoughts and feelings in the press about getting divorced and I have to say her musings are pretty funny. Her latest was shared when addressing the crowd at Joes Pub in NYC the other night. She expressed how things were going with her ex at the end of her marriage, ”I felt like my vagina died.” Some of Olivia’s other revelations…
On knowing your marriage is over: “And you can lie to your relatives at Christmas dinner and tell them everything on the home front is just peachy. But you cannot lie to your vagina.”
On keeping the spark alive: “In Olivia Land, relationships can legally only last seven years, without an option to renew. That way it never goes stale. Can you imagine, if we only had seven years? We’d be so nice to each other, so kind, and appreciative and enthusiastic, like we were eating a really expensive bowl of pasta!”
